The newly-established Assessment Network is modeled after the Reinvention Center’s UVP Network.  It is open to faculty, professional staff, and assessment specialists from all Reinvention Center member universities. Bob Thompson, Professor of Psychology at Duke and Senior Consultant for Assessment for the Reinvention Center, is serving as chair.

Goals in Establishing the Network

1. To create an infrastructure that will allow for sustained conversation and  action relating to assessment as a means to improve teaching and learning
2. To build a strong and robust community of individuals whose combined expertise and experiences within undergraduate education will deepen current knowledge and understanding of assessment, teaching , and learning and their interrelationship; provide direction for future research; and position members to provide leadership within their disciplines/areas of responsibility and universities in fostering practices that are informed by solid empirical evidence
3. To take the critical next step in addressing the need for systematic and iterative approach to improving, assessment, teaching and learning within and across universities.
