The Intramural Department has 4 different positions throughout the school year:
An Intramural Official is a position that entails officiating and refereeing any and all team sports for the Intramural program. Games are played Monday through Thursday from 6:30pm to 11:00pm (Midnight inside the Herbert Wellness Center) and Sundays from 10:00am to 10:00pm. All games take place on the Intramural Fields, or in the Herbert Wellness Center. The only experience necessary is just the willingness to learn and the joy of sports. In order to become an Intramural Official, all you have to do is come to the official's training which takes place during the week at various times (check the official training dates).
Official of the Week
The Intramural Department will elect an official of the week during the Fall and Spring semesters.
The newest position within the Intramural Department is the Court Monitor. Court Monitors will oversee all recreational play in the gym. This person is responsible for enforcing the rules and regulations, checking footwear, maintaining cleanliness of the floor, reporting all incidents and accidents, and enforcing sportsmanship.
This position requires someone to staff the Yaron Field Building. This person will periodically check students ID on the fields, take inventory, check-out equipment, etc. The position will be staffed 7 days a week from 11am to 11pm.
An Intramural Supervisor is also part of the Intramural program. These students work approximately 20 hours per week throughout the semester. Their requirements are to fulfill 1 hour of office hours per week, attend the weekly staff meetings, and to attend any and all officials clinics. The experience necessary is you have to have worked at least 3 out of 5 of the major team sports in the last year.
